Coming from the Taroko tribe in Taiwan, Idas Losin has developed a style deeply affected by local aboriginal art. However, unlike common aboriginal art, which centers on totems and various colors, Idas Losin is astute and unconventional, utilizing Western oil paintings and mixed art. Revealing contemporary spirits with a distinctive personal style, Idas Losin elaborates on important issues such as ethnic community and female autonomy. The oil painting《Black and White》looks abstract. Yet, with simple black and white patches symbolizing two snuggling dogs, it reveals a warm touch of life and a strong emotional connection between human beings.
