Taiwan artist Chiu Chien Jen shines in depicting the sense of uncertainty by illustrating people’s action in a realist but somehow illusory way. An emerging artist, Chiu perceives the world with astute observation. Through his paintings, Jen prompts people to think about the transient moments in life.

Jen paints with expressive personal style. In the series of “Life goes on!,”he stacks the paint layers before scraping them, presenting changing brush strokes and leaving tracks of paints flowing. The series exhibits Chiu’s poetic but somewhat melancholic expression of daily life.
